FAQ

When do your house churches meet?

House churches meet three times per month for worship in someone’s home and then once per month for a time of fellowship and/or service. Each of our house churches meet on different days of the week. The decision of when and where a house church meets is a decision made by participants in the house church.

Where do your current house churches meet?

Our house churches meet in homes in South Riding, Gainesville and Bristow, Virginia, and Gainesville, Florida. We’re currently discerning new groups in Northern Virginia and the Commonwealth.

How do you handle childcare?

Each house church decides how children are involved when they gather. We recommend that house churches do one of the following: 1. Hire in house childcare workers/babysitters, 2. Parents take turn watching the kids, and/or 3. Have children present and participate throughout worship when they gather.

How do you handle middle and high school students?

It is up to the parents and the house church if they want middle and high school students present when their house church meets. Our house churches do have teens who are actively involved. We also encourage middle and high school students to participate in the student groups at Gainesville Church.

What mission/service projects do you do?

We encourage our house churches to do mission work on a regular basis and work with them to identify opportunities to serve locally and internationally. Because we are associated with Gainesville Church, there are many opportunities for collaboration on service projects both in our communities and around the world.

What is expected of someone who is part of Revive House Church?

We ask everyone who is a part of our house churches to first and foremost live into the great commandment: love God and love people. We also ask all our people to practice daily habits that help us to live into the great commandment and grow closer together. These include: daily prayer, daily Bible reading, participating during gatherings, caring for one another, giving and taking part in missions and outreach.
